As a Speaker4Kdz & Families, I leverage my experience to advocate for reform in the foster care system, aiming to support struggling foster families. My focus is on promoting solutions, keeping families together when possible, providing resources to birth parents for success, and emphasizing unity over separation. I strive to ignite teams to extinguish burnout. I wrote "Kokoon on a Hill" to offer insight into the foster family experience. I strongly advocate for every child's right to a stable and secure family, a place they can truly call home. While foster care can be a positive option with rewards for children in good families, I don't believe every child in care should be there. Struggling families require support rather than separation.

My Story
Elise M Schuster is a published author, a Speaker4Kdz & Families. She believes that all children deserve to be safe, but not all foster families and agency workers are doing what is right for the children they are supposed to be caring for. Through trials and triumphs, she has learned many unimaginable things concerning the system as a whole. There are some workers and foster families that try to do what is right and do have the best interest of the children as priority, but many do not. Elise uses her years of experience as a mom of two birth children, nine adopted children, and fifty-six children in care to help others understand being a foster parent is an honor and an amazing call to serve, and should not be used for the system's monetary gain or any other agenda. If the system was being utilized the way it was created, there would be less children in and out of care and less children aging out with no where to go.

Elise is the founder & creator of Hammocks4Healing, a company she started to produce hammocks for children who have experienced abused, trauma, or any other pain. Her goal is to provide a tangible Kokoon (cocoon) for children, a space to wrap up when they need to feel safe and secure.
